JULIA PEYTON-JONES U BEOGRADU
Čuvena britanska kustoskinja, direktorka galerije i umetnica, Dama Džulija Pejton-Džons (Julia Peyton-Jones) bila je 2.septembra 2023. gošća Beograda. Ona je u galeriji X Vitamin otvorila izložbu crteža i predstavila istoimenu knjigu - “Pijin svet”. Crteži koji su objavljeni u ovoj knjizi ekskluzivno su izloženi u galeriji X Vitamin od 3. septembra do 5. oktobra 2023. godine.
Dzulija Pejton-Džons se u svojoj dugogodišnjoj karijeri kustoskinje i direktorke galerije Serpentine u Londonu istakla svojim radom, a za izuzetan doprinos međunarodnoj kulturi i razvoju britanske kulturne scene dobila je titulu Dame Britanske imperije. Međutim, široj javnosti je privukla pažnju tako što je nakon dvadeset pet godina u Serpentine Galleries, hrabro promenila pravac, postavši majka sa 64 godine i započela novi posao u Thaddeus Ropac, komercijalnoj galeriji međunarodnog priznanja.
Inače, knjiga “Pijin svet” objavljena je 2021. godine, odmah posle godine pandemije. Ova prelepa serija crteža unutar crvenih korica, koju je umetnica stvarala svake večeri kada bi njena ćerka zaspala ,sadrži vizuelni dnevnik njihovih života uoči i tokom pandemije. Knjiga je istovremeno i zapis ovog vremena i poklon Piji na koju će se osvrnuti u budućnosti.

JULIA PEYTON-JONES IN BELGRADE
The famous British curator, gallery director and artist, Dame Julia Peyton-Jones, was a guest of Belgrade on September 2, 2023. The cause was the opening of her exhibition of drawings in the X Vitamin gallery and the book promotion, both entitled "Pia's World". The drawings published in this book are exclusively exhibited in the X Vitamin gallery from September 3 to October 5, 2023.
In her long career as curator and director of the Serpentine Gallery in London, Julia Payton-Jones stood out for her work, and for her outstanding contribution to international culture and the development of the British cultural scene, she was awarded the title of Dame of the British Empire. However, she came to the attention of the general public when, after 25 years at Serpentine Galleries, she boldly changed direction, becoming a mother at the age of 64 and starting a new job at Thaddeus Ropac, a commercial gallery of international acclaim.
The book "Pia's World" was published in 2021, right after the year of the pandemic. This beautiful series of drawings inside the red covers, which the artist created every night when her daughter fell asleep, contains a visual diary of their lives before and during the pandemic. The book is both a record of this time and a gift to Pia that she will look back on in the future.
